Jake and TJ: The Alternate Universe

TJ sat in her room crying. It's been a few months that she found out Jake and Jasmine were together.
"I hate them so much." She said. She sighed, changed into her pajamas, and layed in her bed.
"I don't think Jasmine's right for him. He would be happier if he was with someone else. Someone like me. I wonder if parallel universes do exist? Maybe me and Jake are together there." TJ sighed again and soon fell asleep.

*Alternate Timeline*
"NO! Stop!" Jake screamed. Jake was in his room playing video games with Brandon and Chris. Brandon laughed at Jake's reaction.
"This is too funny!" He said and continued to laugh.
"No it's not!" Jake said.
"Yes, it is." Chris said. Jake screamed again when Brandon's and Chris's characters beat his.
"You two were cheating!" He said.
"No we weren't. You're just not good at this game." Brandon said, trying to stop laughing.
"Whatever. I'm done playing video games for today." Jake replied.
"What do you guys wanna do now?" Chris asked.
"Let's go see what the girls are up to." Jake said.
"You and Jasmine are still friends?" Chris asked.
"Of course. People can still be friends with their exes. Jasmine was upset when I broke up with her, but she's better now." Jake replied.
"Uh, my cousin broke up with you." Brandon said.
"...Shutup." Jake said.
"Ok then. Let's go." Chris said.

"Hey guys!" Kacey greeted when the three got to Jasmine's house.
"Hi." Brandon said and hugged her.
"Hi..." TJ and Tia said shyly.
"What are you guys doing?" Jake asked.
"We were playing Mario Kart." Jasmine said.
"I'm tired of playing video games." Tia said.
"US too." Chris said.
"Let's watch a movie!" Jasmine said.
"Ok! What movie?" Kacey asked.
"Hmm. How about Freddy vs. Jason?" Jasmine suggested.
"Sure." Jasmine put in the movie and sat with the others. Jake sat in between Jasmine and TJ and put his arms around them.
"You two can cling to me if you get scared." He said.
"I'm not gonna get scared." Jasmine said, moving his arm.
"Fine. TJ, if you get scared, cling on to me." He said.
"O-ok." TJ said. She could feel her cheeks getting hot.
"Is it wrong to love him? I knew Jake longer than Jasmine has, but she dated him." TJ didn't think more of it and watched the movie.

"Hey TJ!" Tia greeted the next day.
"Hi." TJ replied.
"Wanna go hang out with Jake and the others?" Tia asked.
"U-um sure." TJ said. Her heart started racing and she felt her cheeks getting warm again.
"Are you ok?" Tia asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." TJ said.
"This is wrong. I can't be with him. And I don't want her to find out." TJ sighed.

Weeks have passed and TJ still felt the same when she's around Jake or thinks about him. She tried to avoid him at school, but he always ended up where she was.
"Maybe...I should tell her." TJ said. She was in her room, drawing a picture of Jake.
"I hope she doesn't hate me." She said and finished her drawing.

Later that day, TJ decided to tell Jasmine. She walked to her house and knocked on the door. A few seconds later, Jasmine opened the door.
"Hi TJ!" She greeted.
"Hi...Jasmine, there's something I wanted to tell you." She said.
"What is it?" Jasmine asked. Jasmine let her inside. The two sat on the couch. TJ stared at the floor.
"Maybe I shouldn't do this. I'm scared!" TJ thought.
"TJ, is everything ok?" Jasmine asked.
"Ok. I have to tell her..." She sighed.
"Jasmine...I....I love Jake." TJ said.
"...What?" Jasmine said.
"I love Jake. I loved him for a long time. I wanted to tell him, but I was afraid to. And when I got some courage to tell him, I found out you and him were together."
"Oh..."
"And now, I still can't be with him because you believe in that stupid rule!" TJ said. She tried to hold back her tears.
"You mean about dating a friend's ex?" Jasmine asked. TJ nodded.
"I don't believe in it. It's stupid. People can date whoever they want." Jasmine said.
"You don't hate me?" TJ asked.
"No. I don't really care who Jake dates. If you want to, go ahead." Jasmine said and hugged her.
"I'm scared to tell him again." TJ said.
"Tell him when you're ready." Jasmine replied.

TJ stood outside of Jake's house. It was a week later since she told Jasmine and finally got the courage to tell Jake.
"I hope he doesn't reject me." TJ said. She knocked on the door. Jake opened the door.
"Hey TJ!" Jake greeted.
"Hi.." TJ said shyly.
"I'm bored. You wanna play some video games with me?" He asked.
"Sure." She replied.
"How am I supposed to tell him?" She thought.

They went to his room and played Mario Kart. TJ looked over at Jake, her face getting hot again.
"Jake...Can I tell you something?" TJ asked.
"Sure." Jake said and paused the game.
"Here it goes."
"Ever since we became friends, I started to like you, but you had a girlfriend. Then...I fell in love with you." TJ started.
"...Really?" Jake asked.
"Yes. I wanted to tell you, but I was afraid. I got the courage to tell you but when I was ready, I found out you and Jasmine were together."
"Oh..."
"I told Jasmine before and she said she doesn't care who you date. But I doubt you would date me..." TJ said.
"Of course I'd date you." Jake said.
"Really?" TJ said.
"Yes." Jake replied.
"Why?" TJ asked.
"You're nice, you're my friend, and you're pretty." He said.
"No I'm not." TJ said.
"Yes you are." Jake replied.
"Then...will you give me a chance? Please?" TJ asked. Jake smiled and hugged her.
"Yes." He said. TJ smiled and hugged back.
